John Emory Islay Jr.

MEADVILLE — John Emory Islay Jr., 53, of Meadville, passed away peacefully at Meadville Medical Center on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, surrounded by his family and his caregiver, Angie.

John was born April 18, 1959, in Pittsburgh, and was a son of Mary Lou Williams and John Emery Islay Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife Rae-Jean Islay; sisters Diane Winder and her husband, Harry, of Waynesburg, and Linda Islay Russell and her husband, Ted, of Erie; and their families.

He also leaves behind his step-mother, Elaine McCance and her husband, Edward, of Connecticut; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

John graduated from Fox Chapel High School in Pittsburgh and attended Allegheny College in Meadville.

John enjoyed studying and working with computers, and always his “beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
