Weather warning: We may get an inch of snow in an hour

Lake effect snow warning in place through 6 a.m. Saturday

MEADVILLE — Crawford and Erie counties remain are under a lake effect snow warning through 6 a.m. Saturday as snowfall rates are likely to be an inch or more an hour at times, according to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland.

Lake effect snow will continue until late tonight with some areas having storm totals of nearly 2 feet of snow.

The Meadville area is expected to pick up an additional 5 to 9 inches of snow by tomorrow.

Another 3 to 7 inches of snow is forecast for today with an additional inch possible tonight and an additional inch Saturday.

Temperatures are expected be in the mid to upper teens today with a low around 5 tonight. Wind chill values may be as low as -7 both today and tonight. On Saturday temperatures are expected in the mid teens during the day and holding steady into the evening.
