County under flood advisory

MEADVILLE — Crawford County is under an urban and small streams flood advisory until 8:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Office in Cleveland.

Weather radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across  the area with estimates of 1 to 3 inches of rain.

Runoff from the excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding especially along small streams and near low water crossings.

Areas that will experience flooding include Cambridge Springs, Conneautville, Linesville and Meadville, according to the National Weather Service.

The public is cautioned not to drive a vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway as the water depth may be too great to allow a vehicle to cross safely, the National Weather Service said.
