Jury selection starts in woman's homicide trial

MEADVILLE — Jury selection for the homicide trial of a Conneautville woman accused by Pennsylvania State Police of the shotgun slaying of her husband more than one year ago is under way in Crawford County Court of Common Pleas.

The selection process began late this morning in the homicide trial of Patricia Oliver, 54, who is charged with homicide for Oct. 5, 2010, death of her husband, Anthony.

Mrs. Oliver is charged by Pennsylvania State Police of homicide for allegedly shooting her husband with a shotgun once at their Hayfield Township home following a domestic argument over bills.

Jury selection is expected to be completed this afternoon with opening statements by both the prosecution and defense to follow.
