MEADVILLE —
Meadville Council on the Arts is now showcasing the talents of its members for the 38th Annual Members’ Exhibit at the Heeschen Gallery (second floor of the Market House). Scheduled through March 2, the exhibit by professional and amateur artists is a way of bringing artists together to share their art with the community. The exhibit highlights the work of 21 members with 53 pieces of art in the show. MCA is inviting the public to view the exhibit that showcases artists who enrich the Meadville community with their art.
Gallery hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year, the exhibit features watercolors, photography, oil and acrylic paintings, pottery, mosaics and much more. New MCA board member Michael Saletra will be exhibiting his latest paintings, “Jester” and “Symmetrical Force,” using the process of zentangles. This type of art is a way to create interesting abstract designs by exploring lines and shapes in a 4x4-inch space and then expanding on these concepts.
Jan Lutz, a longtime member of MCA, is exhibiting her conte pencil drawing, “Cheetah Watch.” The viewer will enjoy her careful attention to detail. Lutz is also showcasing her watercolors, “Rising Wind” and “Sunlit,” that embrace her passion for changing forces of nature.
The community is invited to select two “People’s Choice” awards that will be given to the artists at the end of the exhibit.
