  • Symmetrical Force by Saletra.JPG 53 artworks featured in current Council on Arts show

    Meadville Council on the Arts is now showcasing the talents of its members for the 38th Annual Members’ Exhibit at the Heeschen Gallery (second floor of the Market House). Scheduled through March 2, the exhibit by professional and amateur artists is a way of bringing artists together to share their art with the community. The exhibit highlights the work of 21 members with 53 pieces of art in the show. MCA is inviting the public to view the exhibit that showcases artists who enrich the Meadville community with their art.

    I was 4 when I acted in my first big movie, The Journey. I made it in Vienna with Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr. Yul was supposed to play such a tough guy that when he took a shot of whiskey, he bit the glass. He wanted me to know that it wasn’t real glass and that I should never do that. I was sitting on his knee, and he made me bite into the glass — it was made out of sugar — to show me it wasn’t real.

  • Perfect weather for this weekend's Winter Fun Days

    The 37th Annual Winter Fun Days, presented by the Pymatuning Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club, take place on Saturday and Sunday at Shelter No. 4 at the Old Jamestown Beach in Pymatuning State Park in Jamestown, and given the snow coming down Friday and expected into Saturday, the weather is perfect.
