Comedian coming to town part of Tammy Pescatelli Series

MEADVILLE — Part of the Tammy Pescatelli Series, the Academy Theatre is bringing in comedian Mark Eddie on April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at 275 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Eddie is an American comedian with a musician’s point-of-view on everything from pop culture to parenting. With his guitar, signature voice and happy-go-lucky spirit, Eddie points out quirky things in the hits we love while delivering dead-on musical impressions of Al Green, Neil Diamond, Shaggy, Dave Mathews and more.

Having toured professionally for 14 years as a musician, singer and songwriter, Eddie has a knack for putting a satirical spin on pop anthems, music headlines and rock legends. With guitar in hand and tongue firmly in cheek, he tackles burning questions like: How does music of the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s stack up to today’s hits? How are heavy metal and polka similar? “They’re either brief moments of genius, or I have way too much time on my hands” Eddie says with a grin.

Before comedy, Eddie “the musician” toured and opened for national acts like Jackson Browne, Melissa Etheridge and Toad the Wet Sprocket. While being singled out twice in Billboard Magazine, nominated five times for the National Association for Campus Activities “Campus Entertainment Awards” and topping the CMJ charts again and again, Eddie had a burning desire to explore comedy. Today Eddie “the comedian” tours internationally and headlines Los Angeles’ legendary comedy venues.

“One day, I went from rock musician to rock comedian” Eddie said.

He even occasionally sits in as part of an All-Star Band lineup with members of The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, No Doubt, The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan.

Aaron Kleiber will be the feature act for Mark Eddie. Kleiber has been entertaining his entire life — from climbing atop his grandmother’s coffee table as a child to taking the stage at comedy clubs across the country.

Kleiber has been a requested feature performer for Bob Saget, Jim Breuer, Ralphie May, Bert Kreischer, John Witherspoon, Josh Blue, Pablo Francisco and Steve-O. He’s also performed alongside Sinbad, Billy Gardell, Bobcat Goldthwait, Tom Green and Tommy Davidson.

Kleiber recently filmed a guest-starring role for the Nickelodeon series “Supah Ninjas,” which is airing now. He co-starred in the film “Help Me, Help You” opposite Sabrina Bryan.

A native of Munhall and a fixture in Pittsburgh’s growing comedy scene, Kleiber was voted “Best Local Comedian” by Pittsburgh Magazine in 2012.
