Edinboro University moves into new Meadville digs

MEADVILLE — Edinboro University’s Crawford County branch is set to begin the spring semester on Jan. 28 as one part of the multi-million dollar Meadville Impact project along Market Street.

Edinboro University in Meadville, the Joseph T. Buba Center, will welcome continuing education students and those enrolling in the new associate of applied science degree program. Edinboro’s branch campus had been temporarily situated in Parkside Commons after moving from the Bessemer location it occupied for several years.

Now located at 890 Market St., anchoring the north end of Kepler Commons, the Buba Center begins the spring semester with five continuing education courses in the areas of communications, English, mathematics, physics and technology, business and economics, as well as the new applied science course, which is also offered at Edinboro University in Erie, The Porreco Center.

Moving to the new, centralized Meadville location under a multi-year lease reaffirms Edinboro University’s commitment to the residents of Meadville and Crawford County. A formal rededication ceremony is planned for March. The Buba Center also features training and meeting space that will be available to rent.

As in the past, there will be free bus service between the Meadville, Edinboro and Erie campuses.

Parking in downtown Meadville is easily accessible at any open metered location. The free bus service is available from the bus stop at Penn Plaza if leaving a car, and at the Downtown Mall/Water Street entrance for the CATA bus stop in front of the parking ramp.
