MEADVILLE —
Meadville’s city government is still operating from its long-time Water Street facility, but regularly scheduled public meetings have moved — temporarily — to Meadville Central Fire Station, 850 Park Ave., Meadville. Attendees should enter the facility’s conference room from Walnut Street.
Meadville City Council’s first official gathering in its temporary “chamber” will begin at 4 p.m. today. According to City Manager Joe Chriest, today’s monthly work session is expected to include a presentation by Executive Director Mike Fisher of Meadville Area Recreation Complex; a discussion on updating the lights on the city-owned Market Square parking ramp; execution of a new lease with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition amending the date the company will take possession of the City Building for conversion into its new corporate headquarters to Oct. 31; and a discussion of a revised draft of a proposed stormwater management ordinance.
In late October, Meadville Police Department, the courtroom and offices of Meadville Area Magisterial District Judge William Chisholm as well as the city’s administrative offices are all scheduled to move permanently to the Diamond Park facility, which already houses the city’s Redevelopment Authority. The exact date and additional details will be announced prior to the move.
