The Fraternal Order of Police lodges of Crawford County have invited the public to join with them to honor those officers “who gave their all so that we can be safe.” A memorial ceremony will be May 11 at noon in Meadville.

The service will start in the assembly room in the Crawford County Courthouse with a PowerPoint show saluting Pennsylvania officers killed in the line of duty in the past year. The reading of their names and an address by Crawford County District Attorney Francis Schultz will be held.

The group will then move outside to the front of the courthouse (if weather permits) for the playing of “Taps,” a rifle salute and the retiring of the colors.
