NEW LOCAL: Police seek public's help solving hit and run

SPARTA TOWNSHIP — Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a hit-and-run incident that left a truck abandoned in a pasture.

Pennsylvania State Police at Corry reported someone was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 on Mt. Pleasant Road just north of Church Run Road sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. today and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the road and down a small embankment, striking an electrical fence and traveling into a pasture, where it became stuck.

The fence, pasture and truck all sustained damage, according to police, and the truck was towed from the scene.

Anyone with information about the driver and/or owner of the truck is asked to contact state police at (814) 663-2043.

The City of Meadville may use taxpayer funds to renovate Diamond Park’s historic Shippen Fountain with the intention of repaying the money later with donations. Your reaction:

That’s fine. It’s a worthy project and I am confident enough donations will be raised.
No way! The city has plenty of other pressing needs that have gone unaddressed. The fountain should be renovated only after enough donations have been collected.
