WEST MEAD TOWNSHIP — Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the suspect in a double stabbing that allegedly occurred early Monday afternoon in the Tamarack Lake dam parking lot on DeVore Road in West Mead Township.
The incident began when the victims, Hakeem Ali Selma and Johnny Frank Henry, both 19 and both of Columbus, Ohio, allegedly drove the suspect, 41-year-old Anthony Louis Jordan, to the parking lot in a blue Chevrolet Cobalt with Ohio plates.
According to state police, the victims were then allegedly assaulted by the suspect, who was wielding one or more knives. After each sustaining several stab wounds to their backs and faces, Selma and Henry fled from the vehicle.
At that point, Jordan allegedly stole the vehicle and fled the scene.
The victims made their way to a nearby Springs Road residence. According to state police, “they were assisted, treated and a call was made to 911.”
The call was received at 2:02 p.m.; according to scanner reports monitored in the Tribune newsroom, emergency responders made their way carefully to the scene, unsure of exactly what they would encounter. It was soon broadcast that the stabbings had taken place before the victims arrived at the residence — and the state police Girard barracks was alerted that the stolen Cobalt was believed to be headed to the Erie area.
The victims were transported by ambulance to Meadville Medical Center, where they were both treated and released.
In the meantime, Meadville Central Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a crash at the intersection of Liberty and Walnut streets in downtown Meadville at 2:07 p.m. Scanner reports at the time indicated that the crash involved fire but no entrapment; according to firefighters, the fire had been extinguished by the time they arrived at the scene.
Within minutes, state and city police had determined that the stolen vehicle was the same vehicle involved in the crash.
According to state police, after fleeing the parking lot, the suspect apparently wrecked the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Walnut and Liberty and then fled from that scene on foot. State police noted that no further injuries resulted from the crash.
Although criminal charges were being prepared at press time, the suspect, who was last seen in the Walnut Street area, was still not in custody. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Meadville barracks at 332-6911.
In addition to Meadville City Police and Meadville Central Fire Department, state police were assisted at the scene by Meadville Auxiliary Police.
