MEADVILLE —
A Conneaut Lake couple has a real rooting interest in the 12th season of Big Brother.
Hayden Moss, the grandson of Bob and Kathy Moss, is one of four finalist on the popular reality show which airs Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS. The winner is awarded $500,000.
“We never watched the show before, but we haven’t missed one since he’s been on,” Kathy said. “He’s doing a great job.”
Hayden, 24, resides in Phoenix, Ariz. and is a senior at Arizona State University where he played baseball for two seasons.
Kathy said Hayden, the son of Gary Moss, formerly of Conneaut Lake, was on an airplane home from visiting his sister, Terryn, near Dallas, Texas and began talking to the woman sitting next two him. The woman eventually identified herself as one of the producers of Big Brother and another CBS hit reality show Survivor and asked Hayden orignially if he was interested in being on Survivor.
Following a lengthy background check, which included questionaires and a hometown visit, Hayden was chosen to appear on Big Brother.
“He’s made us real proud,” Kathy said. “He’s been good. He kind of laid low at the beginning. He wasn’t a smart alec. And I think it paid off.”
Hayden isn’t the only local tie to the show Big Brother. Former Meadville resident Alison Irwin was a finalist on Big Brother 4 and also appeared on Big Brother All-Stars.
Big Brother 12 airs again Wednesday at 8 p.m. The two-hour season finale of Big Brother 12 airs Sept. 15.
