With few leads to follow, police reportedly continue searching for a suspect after a bank robbery in Meadville on Tuesday.
Emergency radio reports indicated First National Bank on Park Avenue was robbed at about 1:15 p.m. by a male wearing a light blue ski mask, coveralls and a black hooded sweatshirt.
No weapon was seen, according to reports. The bank was reportedly locked down temporarily for security purposes and further investigation following the robbery.
Reports didn’t indicate how much money may have been stolen. Branch officials refused to comment on the incident Monday.
The suspect had reportedly been seen fleeing in the direction of Meadville
Public Library, and local police investigating in that area after the robbery were stopping people whose appearances matched parts of the suspect’s description. Everyone who was initially stopped was allowed to proceed freely after some basic questioning from the authorities.
Anyone who has information regarding the robbery and/or any possible suspects is asked to call Meadville City Police Department at 724-6100.
