Dolores J. Klaas, 90, of 322 S. Martin St., Titusville, formerly of 11110 Hunters Ridge, Meadville, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Southwoods Assisted Living, Titusville.
Dolores was born in Sharon on March 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Carl and Ann R. Cameron Gantz. On April 8, 1950, Dolores married Otto A. Klaas; he preceded her in death on June 11, 2003.
While living in Meadville, she was a member of North Meadville Church of Christ.
Dolores enjoyed being a homemaker. During World War II, she had been employed by the former Westinghouse and also in her earlier years by the former Sharon Store. She was a 1940 graduate of Sharon High School. Her hobbies included bird watching and doing needle work.
Dolores is survived by four children, Ellen R. Hrach and her husband, David, of Pulaski, Kelvin Klaas and his wife, Penny, of Guys Mills, Gayle Kimmel and her husband, James, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Daniel T. Klaas and his wife, Cheryl, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Walterhouse and her husband, Jonathon, Micah Klaas, Caleb Klaas, Shawn Klaas, Jaimee Trujillo and her husband, Ernesto, Jaclyn Kimmell, and Jonathon Kimmell and his wife, Kassi; a stepgranddaughter, Libby Reminder and her husband, Jon; five stepgreat-grandchildren Owen, Connor, Zeke, Theo and Thessela; a brother, Harley Gantz and his wife, Diana, of Baraboo, Wis.; a niece and three nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Otto, of 53 years, Dolores was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Lang Hendricks; and a grandson, Floyd (Buddy) Lang Jr.
A graveside service, followed by interment, will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Park, 887 N. Broad St. Ext., Grove City, with Jonathon Walterhouse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwoods Assisted Living Center, C/O Ruth Boyle, 322 S. Martin St., Titusville, Pa. 16354.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
