CONNEAUTVILLE — Doris M. Smock, 86, formerly of Cochranton, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Rolling Fields Inc. of Conneautville.

Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Morgantown, W.Va., she was the daughter of Harry A. and Doris E. Webber DeVault. She married Robert Preston in October of 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1983. On June 29, 1985, she married Howard Smock and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.

Doris was dedicated homemaker and a life-long member of Mumford Chapel Church. She also was the first woman member in the Cochranton Lions Club; served on the Cochranton Fair Committee; was a charter member of the Cochranton Christmas Tree Lane Organization; volunteered for the American Cancer Society; was a Democratic Party committeeperson; and was a member of the Cochranton Grange.

Survivors include three sons, Robert E. Preston and his wife, Rita, Delmar A. Preston and his wife, Sheila, and Dale E. Preston and his wife, Faye, all of Cochranton; three sisters, Celia Kolacek of Diamond, Mary R. Buckley of Tennessee, and Shirley A. Beaussire of Austin, Texas; three brothers, David DeVault and wife, Dorothy, of Oklahoma, and twin brothers, Joseph DeVault of Milledgeville and James DeVault of New Orleans, La.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Ray DeVault.

Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell Hines officiating.

Interment will be in Mumford Cemetery, Fairfield Township.
