CARRICK — William D. Miller, 64, of Carrick, died unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.

He was born in Meadville to the late Robert and Louise Miller. He was the beloved husband of Susan Miller; loving father of Marie (Robert) Miller-Rodriguez of Phoenix, Ariz., David Miller and Brenda Miller, both of Pittsburgh; dear grandfather of Olivia “Livie” Rodriguez; brother of John “Jeff” Miller; brother-in-law to Warren, Ellen Ashburn of Bridgeville, Manuel Gonzalez of Tucson, Ariz., and Loretta Gonzalez of Pittsburgh; and cherished uncle of five nieces and nephews; and nine grand-nieces and nephews.

Since 1992, Bill was vice president at Hefren-Tillotson, a financial planning firm in the Pittsburgh area. He received the Five Star Wealth Manager honor from Pittsburgh Magazine for the past several years. Bill served as sidekick to Jim Meredith on CBS radio affiliate KDKA’s “Your Money & You.” He graduated with honors from Duquesne University in 1975, receiving a bachelor of science degree. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1972, including a tour in Vietnam. He graduated from Saegertown Area High School.

Bill could be found tending his lawn, his tomato garden, relaxing on his front porch chatting with neighbors, including dear friend of 41 years, Paul Tylak, and spending time on his boat, Pop’s Traveling Dock, at his new Conneaut Lake home. He followed politics closely and was undoubtedly disappointed not to cast a ballot for Mitt Romney.

Visitation and the funeral service were at John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood.
