COCHRANTON —
Charles A. (Chuck) Peterson, 68, of 1633 Griffith Road, Cochranton (Fairfield Township), died at 1:27 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at UPMC-Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness.
Born in Geneva, June 21, 1944, he was a son of Clyde E. and Barbara J. Hudson Peterson.
He was a 1962 graduate of Cochranton High School. He was employed at Greenville Steel Car, which later became known as Trinity Industries, Greenville.
He was a member of American Legion Post 111, Meadville.
He served with the U.S Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He marrice Choyce A. Johnson March 8, 1990, who survives.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Choyce A. Peterson of Cochranton; two daughters, Wendy Gum and her husband, Steven, of Cochranton, and Patti Capron and her husband, Matthew, of Townville; a stepson, Michael Komorek of Erie; his mother, Barbara J. Peterson of Cochranton; a sister, Doris Beachy and her husband, Ben, of Cochranton; five grandchildren, Erica Komorek, Jaron Williams, Steven Gum, Matthew Gum and Cody Peterson; a cousin and special friend, Larry Beggs, whom Chuck considered to be a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home Ltd., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sheakleyville Cemetery, Sandy Creek Township, with military honors to be accorded by the Pennsylvania Army Military Honor Guard, Ft. Indiantown Gap.
The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the American Heart Association.
