STONEBORO —
Judith L. (Judy) Vale, 72, of 25 Lake St., Stoneboro (formerly of Espyville), passed away peacefully at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, in St. Paul’s, Greenville, after an extended illness.
Born July 31, 1940, in Girard (Erie County), she was a daughter of Jack L. and Margaret E. Tomes Gill.
She was a graduate of Wesleyville High School. While in high school she began working at Bell Telephone Company of Erie as a telephone operator. Then for many years she worked for J.C. Penney Company at the Meadville Mall and then worked as a pharmacy technician for the Thrift and then Eckard Drug stores of Meadville and Conneaut Lake, retiring in 2002.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Judy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Neil Diamond fan and enjoyed working puzzle books.
Her husband of 53 years, Edward W. Vale, whom she married June 13, 1959, survives at home. Also surviving are two sons, Kirk E. Vale and his wife, Debbie, of Conneaut Lake, and Troy L. Vale and his wife, Tracey, of Greenville; four grandchildren; and a brother, J. Bradley Gill and his wife, Mary, of Corry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Carson Hovance; and a brother, Willis P. Gill.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Sheakleyville Presbyterian Church, 3233 Perry Highway, Hadley, Pa. 16130.
The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Sheakleyville Presbyterian Church, 3233 Perry Highway, Hadley, with Onnalee Patterson, pastor, officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.
