ADAMSVILLE — Glenn Austin Nottingham, 87, of Adamsville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

He was born on March 4, 1925, in Adamsville, a son of the late Loring Nottingham and Elizabeth Herner Nottingham. On Nov. 18, 1949, Glenn married Edna Virginia Osborn, who survives.

Glenn was a union brick mason for more than 40 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country during World War II, earning three combat service stars and a combat infantry badge with the 99th Infantry Division, 393th Infantry Regiment in Europe.

He attended Fallowfield United Methodist Church. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, reading westerns and the Bible, traveling to his hunting camp, helping others and, most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edna Virginia Nottingham of Adamsville; a daughter, Cindy Temple and her husband, Gary, of Hartstown; a son, Ronald Nottingham and his wife, Bonnie, of Conneaut Lake; three grandchildren, Karie Temple-Bloom, Derek Nottingham and Jarod Nottingham; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 11 siblings; and a grandson, Corey Temple.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake.

An additional calling hour will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fallowfield United Methodist Church, 3993 Leach Road, Atlantic, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Karen Kostur of the church.

Interment will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.
