CONNEAUTVILLE — Marion E. Black, 95, formerly of Conneaut Lake, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville.

She was born Nov. 12, 1917, in West Virginia, a daughter of Stanley Wright and Icey Ellen Davis Wright. She married Gail A. Black (Blackie) on Oct. 3, 1936; he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2005.

She was a homemaker and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake. She enjoyed painting, gardening, knitting and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis Black and his wife, Sally, of Dallas, Texas, Daniel Black of Conneaut Lake and Tim Black of College Station, Texas; eight grandchildren, Debi Kendrick and her husband, Aaron, Kelly Black and his wife, Ann, Eric Black and his wife, Jennifer, Tracie Black, Christy Powell, Matt Black, Brian Black and his wife, Jeannine, and Jeff Ricketts; eight great-grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Ida Bucuren, with whom she remained close.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mildred Swartzel and Bernice Young; and a brother, Stanley Wright.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dave Brumagin of Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake.

Interment will be in Southside Cemetery, Shermansville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Rocco R. Tedesco III, supervisor, 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake.
