JAMESTOWN —
Flora Ann Tucker, 68, of 4212 Westford Road, Jamestown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 2:56 p.m. in Meadville Medical Center after a short illness.
Born on Aug. 27, 1944, in Gad, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Evelyn A. Brown Copenhaver.
Mrs. Tucker attended the Oak Grove one-room school at Kesslers Cross Lanes, W.Va., and then graduated in 1962 from Nicholas County High School of Summersville, W.Va.
She worked for more than 17 years at Packard Electric of Warren, Ohio, but then left to become a homemaker for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She loved children and always made time to spend with them. She enjoyed feeding the birds and enjoyed riding and traveling in their Model A.
Flora was a dedicated supporter to her husband and was always at his side.
She was a member of Warren Baptist Temple in Warren, Ohio.
Her husband, John A. Tucker, whom she married on June 16, 1963, survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly A. Meikle and husband Gary of Fowler, Ohio, and Laura J. Demmler and husband Douglas of Jamestown; a son, John Douglas Tucker and wife Jenn of Meadville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Rapp and husband Cecil of Craigsville, W.Va.; four brothers, James David Copenhaver and wife Louise of Champion, Ohio, Darrell Copenhaver of Lake Jackson, Texas, Roger Copenhaver and wife Dorothy of Summersville, W.Va., and Terry Copenhaver and wife Vickie of Fayetteville, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours are on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
A service of celebration and family sharing is Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with family presiding.
Memorial contributions in Flora’s honor may be made to American Cancer Society, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
Interment and a committal service are in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
