CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS —
Emily Katherine Mott, 4, passed away at the home of her parents, Dennis and Tammy Mott, 21284 Center St. Extension, Cambridge Springs, on Saturday evening, Dec. 8, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
Emily was born on April 27, 2008, in Erie and was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor almost 10 months ago.
Emily’s parents are members of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs, where Emily was baptized in September 2009. She attended French Creek Valley Christian School Day Care, where she made many special friends all of whom are considered to be an extended part of her family. She was especially close to her best friend, Anna.
Family members surviving Emily, in addition to her parents, Dennis M. and Tammy L. Brodowski Mott, are two brothers, James Patrick (JP) Mott and Jesse Nathaniel Mott, both of Cambridge Springs; her paternal grandparents, James L. and Karen R. Mott of Cambridge Springs; her maternal grandparents, Alexander and Judyth K. Taylor of Cambridge Springs and Bruce E. and Ellen Brodowski of Matthews, N.C.; her paternal uncles and cousins, James M. Mott and his children Crystalyn, McKenzi and Devin Mott, all of Cambridge Springs, and Patrick A. Mott and his daughter Zoee Mott, both of Cambridge Springs; maternal aunts, uncles and cousins, Tricia A. Evans and her husband, Robert, and their children Jaymie, Jesica, and Bobby, all of Pineville, S.C., and Lisa H. Ebert and her husband, William, and their children Hunter, Lyla, and Zoey Ebert, all of Delevan, N.Y.; great-aunts and great-uncles, Ellen Euch of Cochranton, Raymond and Virginia Crocker of Townville, David Crocker of Milliken, Colo., Frank Schopp Jr. and Carolyn Hall of Cambridge Springs, Harry and Cheryl Fisher of Castleton, N.Y., Kenneth and Barbara Boduch of Manilas, N.Y., Chester and Lois Mott of Linesville, Anastasia Mott of Cambridge Springs, and Walter Liss of Longwood, Fla. In addition, there are many other aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members who survive.
Family members preceding Emily in death include her great-grandparents, Ardell (Dutch) and Mary Bell Fronk, Roland and Jane Mott, Elton and Helen Crocker, and Edward and Mary Ann Brodowski.
Emily was an amazing child. She was so strong and brave and was an inspiration to so many people. Her smile and big brown eyes could light up a room. She was loved by all who knew her and even those who never met her. She will live on in all our hearts. “I love you and I’ll miss you, but I will see you later.”
Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs. A vigil prayer service will follow at 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 165 Beach Avenue, Cambridge Springs, with the pastor of the church, the Rev. David Poulson, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Millers Station Cemetery.
