MEADVILLE — Frederick M. Giliberto, 66, of 7724 Chateau House, Meadville, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He fought a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Meadville on Sept. 26, 1943, he was a son of Fred and Josephine Cavnola Giliberto. He married Penny Phillips on April 1, 1964.

He graduated from Meadville High School in 1962. He retired from Lord Corp. in Cambridge Springs after 32 years. He owned and operated Giliberto’s Drive-in and Golf Driving Range on Route 77 for 18 years.

Fred loved golf, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. Most of all, he loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Penny Phillips Giliberto of Meadville; two sons, Frederick (Rick) Giliberto Jr. and his wife, Traci, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael (Mick) Giliberto of Cambridge Springs; five grandchildren, Molly, Anthony, Jake, Nicolas and Ben; two sisters, Louise Karpinski of Erie and Mary Berry of Meadville; two brothers, Joseph Giliberto and Frank Giliberto, both of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Giliberto and Robert Giliberto.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Wilcox and Pastor Roger Smith of First Baptist Church, Meadville, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
