MEADVILLE —
Roger L. Greathouse, 67, of Meadville, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his residence.
Born Dec. 5, 1944, in Meadville, he was a son of Edgar and Elsie Wyant Greathouse Sr. He married Cheryl Heffernan on Nov. 12, 1966, and she survives.
He worked at Channellock for 34 years in the forge department.
He attended Deckards United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Local Steel Workers Union and Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department Station 4.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and also took great pride in refinishing furniture.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 45 years, include two daughters, Laurie Kebert and her husband, Floyd, and Lisa Cullen, all of Meadville; six grandchildren, Samantha, Adam and Hannah Kebert, Krista and Tyler Gorman and Paige Cullen. A stepgrandson, Matthew King and his wife, Rebecca; a great-grandson, Blake Kebert; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaylee and Madilyn King; three brothers, Edgar Greathouse Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Saegertown, John Greathouse and his wife, Frances, of Cochranton, and Walter Greathouse and his wife, Pat, of Jamestown, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; and expecting two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John McGarvey of Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating.
Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
