SAEGERTOWN —
Helen R. Deshner, 94, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, and formerly of Centerville, entered into eternal life Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
Helen was born in Youngsville on Feb. 9, 1918, a daughter of the late Ethel M. (Croup) and Archie G. Jackson.
She was employed during World War II by Sylvania in Warren, and also was employed for 12 years by John Henne in Titusville, whom she enjoyed working for very much.
Helen attended the Assembly of God Church in Titusville for many years. She was a talented musician who played the guitar, violin, mandolin, accordion and harmonica. She enjoyed playing her instruments in various country music festivals.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Chilson of Sedona, Ariz., Bonnie Prenatt and Colleen Kucharski, both of Meadville. In addition to her daughters, Helen shared a special relationship with her niece, Marilyn McKinney of Youngsville, whom she loved very much. Also surviving are grandchildren, Scott Southwick, Holly Hamilton, Steven Carrier and Tyler Kucharski; a great-grandchild, Hunter Southwick; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Deshner; a sister, Mildred Jackson Ebel; three brothers, Paul, Alvian and Roderick Jackson; and a granddaughter, Lisa Joy Proper.
A funeral service will be held at McKinney Funeral Homes, 54 W. Main St., Youngsville, on Thursday at noon, where friends will be received for one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday.
Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery in Titusville.
