ENON VALLEY —
Richard D. Kerfoot, 96, formerly of Meadville, and most recently of Enon Valley, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Heritage Valley Medical Center, Beaver.
He was born on April 19, 1916, in Grindstone, a son of the late William Lee Kerfoot and Florence Hannah Pizzano Kerfoot. He married Emma Gene (Dorothy) Buttermore on July 26, 1943; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2001.
Richard was a graduate of Redstone High School and attended a technical school. He was a design engineer at Talon for 23 years. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Altenburg of Jamestown, N.Y.; a son, Scott Kerfoot and his wife, Kathy, of Enon Valley; four grandchildren, Kyra Kerfoot, Taryn Kerfoot, Ruben Mascitti and Richard Mascitti; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Kerfoot and his wife, Sally, of Cleveland, and Jack Kerfoot and his wife, Hilda, of Doe Run, Mo.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Kerfoot; and several siblings.
