CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS —
Gerald (Jerry) Martin Peters, 81, of Cambridge Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Philipsburg on Jan. 31, 1932, a son of the late Harry and Josephine Wascicki Peters. He married Maureen McCarthy on Oct. 16, 1954. She survives.
He retired from Northwest Rural Electric. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cambridge Springs American Legion Post.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cambridge Springs and was an avid New York Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Peters; a daughter, Bonita Ghiloni and her husband, Stephen, of St. Louisville, Ohio; two sons, Michael Peters and his companion, Janice Kasbee, of Carlton, and Matthew Peters and his companion, Virginia Bruce, of Cambridge Springs; six grandchildren, Joseph Peters, Michelle Peters, Branden Peters, Nicholas Peters, Christina Capogreco and Philip Capogreco; two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Kailin; a sister, Constance Simler of Belleview, Fla.; and a brother, Donald Peters and his wife, Jeannie, of Lindenhurst, Long Island, N.Y.
There will be no calling hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 165 Beach Ave., Cambridge Springs, with Father David Poulson as celebrant.
Burial will be in Venango Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs, Pa. 16403.
