She was a 1934 graduate of Mapa High School in Manila. She attended The University of the East, also in Manila, where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin. She also attended Queen of the Apostles Church in Alexandria as well as Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church at Conneaut Lake, where she formerly served as Eucharistic minister.

She was married to Celestino M. Vega, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1987.

She is survived by her children, Ramon Vega and his wife, Lucita, of Alexandria, Lutgarda Loper and her husband, John, of Salley, S.C., Isabelita Filamor and her husband, Angel Tito, of Centerville, Va., Eduardo Vega and his fiancée, Margarita Atilano, of Alexandria, and Maloy Shrout and her husband, Alan (Rick), of Oil City; in addition to 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sister, Milagros Paredes of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two brothers, Mariano Serrano and his wife, Lolit, and Mario Serrano, all of Manila, Philippines; in addition to her loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She will always be remembered as a loving, thoughtful and generous person.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jaime, Cesar, Jose, Roque, Salvador, Raymond, Carlos, Benjamin and Manuel Serrano; her grandson, Ramon Roderick; and her daughter-in-law, Eva Vega.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St., Franklin. A Christian wake service will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
