William H. Dilley

STONEBORO — William H. Dilley, 78, of Stoneboro, formerly of Cochranton, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, in Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Cochranton, he was a son of Stanley A. and Autumn H. Smith Dilley.

He was a 1954 graduate of Cochranton High School. Mr. Dilley worked many years at Channellock of Meadville and then several years for the Cochranton Cemetery Association.

He was a member of Lakeview Church of God.

He loved old cars, especially the old Studebakers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and taking his children fishing. He loved spending time on the computer doing research.

His wife of 56 years, the former Beverly A. Spence, whom he married Sept. 7, 1956, survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela S. Moon and husband, Robert M. Jr., of Polk, and Julie A. Bowser and husband, R. Mark, of Jackson Center; a son, William A. Dilley and his wife, Renee’, of North Royalton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Robert M. Moon III and his wife, Dana, of Polk, Veronica King and husband, Chad, of Stoneboro, Suzanne Renner and husband, Shane, of Nappanee, Ind., Stephanie Dilley of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Joshua Dilley of Nappanee, Victoria Stalker and husband, Valgene, of Stoneboro, Marcus Bowser and Pierce Bowser, both of Jackson Center; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Hays and husband, Everett, of Cochranton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Earl Dilley.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer St., Stoneboro, Pa. 16153; or Christian Missionary and Alliance Church of Cochranton, 107 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, Pa. 16314

Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer St., Stoneboro, with Pastor Nicholas E. Wilson officiating.

Interment and Committal Service will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
