Dennis Keith (Denny Cool) Kimple

MEADVILLE — Dennis Keith Kimple, age 63, of Meadville, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1949 in Meadville. He is the son of Roland George Kimple and Frances Miller Kimple.

He was married to Shirley Kimple for 25 years then spent the last 14 years with his significant other, Nancy Hoegerl. They both survive him.

He was a 1967 graduate of Meadville High School. He worked at his father’s garage, Kimple’s Exxon, then went into the Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1971. He then worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 39 years. He was a Christian.

He belonged to the ELKS lodge 219, VFW post 2006, Eagles, Italian Civic Club, Meadville Club, West Mead #2 fire department and Free and Accepted Masons.

His pastimes include cooking, gardening, NASCAR, music and spending time with his buddies at the ELKS.

Surviving him is a daughter, Samantha Ashe of Meadville; a son, James Kimple and his wife, Dana, of Jekyl Island, Georgia; five grandchildren, Josie, Cooper, Spencer, Madeline and Ryan; a sister, Rolanda Chaney of Meadville; brother David Kimple and his wife, Missie, of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Denise Kimple of Meadville; two nephews, Jesse and Russell; and six nieces, Amy, Stephanie, Amber, Natalie, Jamie and Tricia.

Also surviving are an aunt and uncle, Bill Eckart and his wife, Donna Eckart.

He is preceded in death by his father, one brother, Robert Kimple, a sister, Sharon Kimple and a niece, Jessica Rose.

Calling hours will be on Monday, Dec. 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hatheway- Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematorium, 614 Baldwin St. Meadville, and the funeral on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Dicksonburg Cemetery.    

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army.
