LINESVILLE —
Marilyn A. Overmoyer, 71, of Linesville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at UPMC Horizon in Greenville. Her departure was unexpected.
Born March 2, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Garnet Ludwig Cahall. She married Daniel Overmoyer on June 18, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio.
She graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in dental hygiene. She then received a bachelor’s degree in library science from Edinboro University and later received her master’s from the University of Pittsburgh in library science.
Marilyn was a loving and devoted homemaker and had worked as a bank teller at PNC and First National Bank.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Linesville.
Marilyn enjoyed square and line dancing, reading, and playing Sudoku. She enjoyed going to Florida in the winter months. She was a very good and loving person. She was hard working, caring, honest, patient, and never had a bad or negative thought about anyone.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Daniel Overmoyer; three sons, Timothy Overmoyer and his wife, Rosie, of Franklin, Wis., David Overmoyer and his wife, Gorica, New Berlin, Wis., and Brian Overmoyer and his wife, Jennifer, of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Andrea, Adriana, Philip, Matthew, Lucas, and James; two sisters, Barbara Borton and her husband, Ron, and Gail Sumeral and her husband, Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Garnet Cahall.
Calling hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Calvary Baptist Church of Linesville, 17880 Conneautville Road, Conneautville.
Funeral service will follow Monday at noon at the church with Pastor Jonathan D. Wagner of the church officiating.
A luncheon at the church will follow the funeral service.
Burial will be in Williamsfield Center Cemetery in Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 175, Linesville, Pa., 16424.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.
