GUYS MILLS —
David Paul Ervin (Brown), 34, of 7764 E. Wayne Road, Guys Mills, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, due to complications from diabetes. David was born in Charleston, S.C., on July 5, 1978, a son of Mike and Linda Brown and Daniel Ervin.
David was a 1997 graduate of Cochranton High School, where he played football and baseball. His artistic talent led him to become a certified welder, and he had recently joined Frontier Industrial Corporation as a heavy equipment operator, working with them throughout the United States.
David enjoyed spending time with friends and family, boating, kayaking and canoeing down the Allegheny River near his parents’ camp. He followed football and was an avid Steelers fan. David had a true love of life and enjoyed making others smile.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Linda Brown of Guys Mills, and Daniel Ervin and wife, LuAnne, of Meadville; two brothers, Dustin Ervin of Guys Mills, and Ryan Brown and wife, Tiffany, of Norrisville; a sister, Erin Milem and husband, Jeffrey, of New Hampshire; maternal grandmother, Laura Johnson of Saegertown; paternal grandparents, Clint and Betty Brown of Guys Mills; three uncles, Terry Dennis and companion, Judy, of Saegertown, Bryan Brown and wife, Sandy, of Guys Mills, and Kurt Johnson and wife, Barbara, of Erie; and several cousins.
David is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Sylvester (Tally) Dennis, Ronald Johnson and Tom Curley; a grandmother, Kathleen Curley; and an aunt, Diane Dennis.
A memorial service will be held in David’s honor on Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. at Chapmanville Community Church, located on Route 27. Pastor Glen Van Cise will be officiating, and a dinner will follow the service in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Diabetes Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 W. Station Square, Landmark Building Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15219. Donations may also be made to the Cochranton Youth League, PO Box 204, Cochranton, Pa. 16314.
