CINCINNATI, Ohio — Linn Frank Hamilton, 76, formerly of 309 Western Ave., Houston, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Cottingham Retirement Community, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Linn was born in Washington on May 28, 1936, a son of the late James Taggart and Jeanette Cummings Hamilton.

On April 26, 1965, Linn married Louise Ann Lemme; she preceded him in death June 1, 2003.

Linn was a fifth generation dairy farmer and for 20 years he operated the family dairy farm which was located in Washington County. He was passionate about the plight of the local dairy farmer. Before taking over the family farm, Linn managed the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Office in Crawford County from 1968 to 1980. In 2009, Linn retired from Quest Diagnostic where he had been employed as a medical courier. Linn graduated from Washington and Jefferson College where he earned his bachelor of science degree in the liberal arts. He went on to further his education by earning his master’s degree in political science from Edinboro University. An enthusiast of the arts, Linn was an avid poet, he loved Mozart and playing the piano.

Linn is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. Whitehouse and her husband, Richard, of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a son, James D. Hamilton and his wife, Katherine, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a granddaughter, Eleanor Hamilton.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Louise, of 38 years, Linn was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben and David Hamilton.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Dave Derby officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
