GAHANNA, Ohio —
Marjorie Eileen McCracken, 86, of 211 Timbers Drive, Gahanna, Ohio, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at New Albany Gardens & Care Center, Gahanna.
Marge was born on Jan. 23, 1926, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Frank and Winifred (Walton) Smoyer.
She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.
She worked for Franklin Exchange Bank & Trust Co. until she met and married her lifelong companion and soulmate, Jack (Ben), on Oct. 20, 1955, and moved to the Saegertown area. Ben and Marge moved to Gahanna in 2006 to be near family.
Marge enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with friends from her computer. She will be remembered by everyone who knew her for her quick wit and sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Jack McCracken, who died on June 23, 2011, and her sister, Barbara J. Bachar (Smoyer) of Franklin.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Wade) Dickerson of Jetersville, Va., Marcia (Nickolas) Monico of Gahanna, and Vicki McCracken of New Albany, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn (Kyle) Adams, Justin Michael Lopus, Benjamin Anthony Monico and Cara Nicole Monico; three great-grandsons, Jacob Taylor Steedley, Christian David Adams and Levi Dale Adams; many nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Private services are in the care of Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, Meadville.
