COCHRANTON —
Nancy Titus Schandelmeier, 65, of 2582 Brick Church Road, Cochranton, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Andover Village, Andover, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sharon on Aug. 27, 1946, she was a daughter of William E. Titus and Evelyn (Boots) Williams. She was married to Robert F. Schandelmeier for 33 years; he preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.
She was a 1964 graduate of Hickory High School. She worked at Advance Security through PPG and previously at Packard Electric. She also worked at Sweetwater Paints, which was their family farm, where she raised paint and quarter horses and beef cattle.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a member of American Quarter Horse Association and American Paint Horse Association. Nancy would take adventurous trips either by horse or by truck into the mountains. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping, fishing and hunting, especially at the family camp in Elk County. She liked to buy antiques and would restore them.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Barr and her husband, James, of Conneautville, and Kelly Altar of Cochranton; a brother, Tod Titus and his wife, Dottie, of Dale City, Va.; a sister, Carolyn Campbell and her husband, James, of West Middelsex; a grandchild, Kyle Czubek, who was the apple of Nanny’s eye; and her loving dog and companion, Cooper.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dvm. William K. Titus.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Robert L. Snyder funeral home Ltd., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Keeling of Reash Community Church officiating.
