COCHRANTON —
Remedios Naz (Lola) Evangelista, 83, of 179 N. Franklin St., Cochranton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.
Lola was born in Manila, Philippines, on May 11, 1929, a daughter of the late Paulino and Catalina Santos Naz. She married Felix Evangelista; he preceded her in death on May 26, 1985.
Lola enjoyed watching game shows, dining out and shopping, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a most loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lola is survived by her granddaughters, Rowena Wagner and her husband, Bernard, of Cochranton, with whom she lived for the past 17 years, Myra Suva and her husband, Fred, and Rhoda Dulay and her husband, Rudolf, all of Manila, Philippines; grandson Sonny Vicmudo of Manila and CJ Branca and her husband, Dom, of West Middlesex; two daughters, Elisa Laguitan and her husband, Danny, of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Mike Laguitan and his wife, Yolanda, Melissa and Madeline Laguitan of Virginia Beach; daughter, Erlinda Woolstrum of Boston; son-in-law, Virgilio Vicmudo and his wife, Angel; and 15 great-grandchildren, including Joshua, Lindsay, Justin and Jude Wagner, Jonah and Jeremiah Suva, Samantha and Sunshine Dulay, Sierra and Madisen Laguitan, and Stefania Branca.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Felix, Lola was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresita Vicmudo; son, Benjamin Evangelista; and grandson, Fritz.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St. Meadville, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Steve Clulow of Cochranton Community Church officiating.
Interment will take place in Cochranton Cemetery.
