Karen Lee Bleicher

CONNEAUTVILLE — Karen Lee Bleicher, 67, of Conneautville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at her daughter’s home at Conneaut Lake, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 3, 1945, to Harry H. and Faymie J. Dawkins in Wilkinsburg.

She graduated in 1963 from Gateway High School in Monroeville.

She worked as a secretary at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, until she married Joseph C. Bleicher on June 26, 1976. He survives.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Conneautville.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, knitting and traveling.  

In addition to her husband of 37 years, she is survived by four children, Beth Ann (Christopher) Staton of Saegertown, Jeffrey Bleicher of Conneautville, Brian Bleicher of Conneautville, and Jennifer (Ryan) McCall of Conneaut Lake; three grandchildren, Mark and Elena Staton, and Olivia McCall; two aunts, Laura and Sommer of Monroeville; a brother, Harry (Carol) Dawkins of Monroeville; a sister, Ruth Anne (Thomas) Corbin of North Huntingdon; two nephews, Eric (Kathy) Dawkins of Monroeville and Michael (Jamie) Corbin of Dubois; a niece, Cindy (Ray) Wernert of Monroeville; three great-nephews, one great-niece and three cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two nephews, Bob and Mark Corbin.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Han and the staff at the Oncology Wellness Institute for the outstanding care over the years. Also a special thank you to all the staff at Southern Care Hospice; we wouldn’t have gotten through it without you.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Conneautville, with Father Steve Anderson as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation, 6144 Clark Center Ave., Sarasota, Fla. 34238; or to Southern Care Hospice, 1245 Park Ave., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
