MINEOLA, Texas —
Patricia Pardee Peterson of Mineola, Texas, and formerly of Meadville, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 15, 2013, after a two-year illness.
Born Jan 6, 1949, in Meadville, she was a daughter of John and Charlotte (Cheney) Pardee.
She was a 1966 Meadville Area Senior High School graduate and graduated from Morrisville State College in 1970. She retired from UPS in 2004 as northeast Texas security manager. She and partner, Sally Shanks, opened a UPS Store in Tyler, Texas. Before leaving Pennsylvania, she attended Trinity Lutheran.
She was an avid NASCAR fan, attending many races. She loved golfing, woodworking and working on her farm property.
She is survived by partner, Sally Shanks; sister, Sharon Hisey; and nephews, Derek and Eric Schnerzinger. She is also survived by former husband, Dale Peterson; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles, and a wonderful group of supportive friends that will miss their “Putt-Putt.”
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A “Celebration of Life” will be at her home on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Max Bly will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Stephen Shanks. Her cremains will be taken to Meadville for church services and burial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward any of the following charitable organizations/memorials: Speedway Children Charities, Victory Junction Gang Camp, Hospice of East Texas or The Living Memorial at Pardee Farm.
