CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS —
Amy L. Heffern Kobylinski (Grandma Erie), 89, formerly of Thurston Road, Meadville, and a resident of Cambridge Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the past 2 and one-half years, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born July 29, 1923, in Six Mile Run, a daughter of William Albert and Hazel Eleanor Foore Bollinger. She married Willis Heffern April 12, 1942, and he preceded her in death June 30, 1960. She subsequently married Louis Kobylinski Dec. 19, 1986, and he preceded her in death May 18, 2006.
Amy worked at American Viscose and Talon in Meadville and then as a purchasing agent at GTE Sterling in Erie for eight years and GTE in Batavia, N.Y., for five years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and formerly enjoyed bowling and golfing. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Mona of Cochranton; two sisters, Wanda Turner of West Melbourne, Fla., and Beverly Phillis and her husband, Lawrence, of Three Forks, Mont.; a brother, Victor Bollinger of Canada; two grandsons, Bob Mona and his wife, Bobbi Jo, and Jeff Mona; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda Burkey and her husband, Kevin, Sarah, Laura, Ethan, Savannah, Addie, Jake and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Bollinger; and two sisters, Betty Jane Maines and Phyllis Hicklin.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
