MONROEVILLE —
George F. Cole, 68, of 417 Eden Drive, Monroeville, died Monday morning, March 11, 2013, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.
He was born in Pittsburgh, March 22, 1944, a son of Donald and Virginia Calihan Cole. He married Mary Anne Matiasic on June 5, 1971; she survives.
George was a 1962 graduate of Gateway High School, Monroeville. He retired from the unemployment office of the state of Pennsylvania with 30 years service, retiring as an examiner. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant in Administrative Services.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake.
His foremost interest was time spent with his children, summers in Conneaut Lake and he and his wife, Mary Anne, were avid campers.
Survivors include four sons, Christopher Cole and his wife, April, of Orlando, Robert Cole and his wife, Alice, of Harmonsburg, James Cole and his wife, Courtney, of Monroeville, and Carey Cole and his wife, Julie, of Plum; a brother, Robert Cole and his wife, Joann, of Irwin; and three grandchildren, Morgan, George and Samuel Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Alfieri Funeral Home Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake, with the Rev. Steve Anderson, pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Americas, as celebrant.
Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.

Local arrangements are being handled by Andrew J. Vana Funeral Home, 102 Church St., Hadley.
