Jon L. Logan

HARMONSBURG — Jon L. Logan of 11298 Harmonsburg Road, Harmonsburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at 1:10 p.m. at home.

Born Oct. 12, 1943, in Meadville, he was a son of Byron Giles Logan and Freda Feltenberger Logan Rhoades.

He worked as a machinist for most of his career at Rockwell, Harmony Forged, Auto Forged and K & S Tool.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Rhonda; a son, Jon T. Logan and his girlfriend, Amanda, from Meadville; a daughter, Sonya Logan and her children, also from Meadville; a son, Travis Logan and his children from Linesville; a son, Jeffery and his wife, Kristi, and their children of Linesville; a daughter, Melinda Sharpe and her fiancé, Charles Munson, of Harmonsburg; a son, Steven Adams, also of Harmonsburg; eight grandchildren, Ashly and Nathaniel Logan of Phoenix, Ariz., Laryssa and Logan Rote of Meadville, Wesley and Adela Logan of Linesville, Trinity and Travis Logan of Linesville; a sister, Bonnie Hostetler and her husband, Lee, and their, son, Seth, of Coraopolis; a sister-in-law, Laura (David) Logan of Mundelein, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Regena Liszka and her husband, Jim, of Greenville, and their children, Dale and Brenda; a sister-in-law, Reneda Eakman and her children, Brent and Bruce Bartholomew, of Hermitage; a sister-in-law, Roberta Milford and her children, Alexis and Mat, of New Bern, N.C.; two nieces, Patty DeLozier and her children, and Joann Logan of Mundelein, Ill.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Barney; his mother, Freda; and his brother, David; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jon was a great father and a wonderful husband. He especially loved his grandkids, actually any kids. They seemed to be drawn to him. He could make any of them laugh. He loved so many things besides his family and friends. He enjoyed horseshoes, golf, shuffleboard, hunting, canoeing and hanging out with his friends. He also enjoyed doing community service for the organizations in the area, from reverse raffles to horse races.

He will be sorely missed by so many. Everyone who was a part of his life was touched by him in some way. It’s a rarity to go anywhere in this area where you don’t meet someone who knew him and loved him.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St. Conneautville; a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. following calling hours.
