MEADVILLE —
Ann C. Santner, 70, of Meadville, died unexpectedly at home, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
She was born in Meadville, July 17, 1942, a daughter of R. Granville and Thelma Hetrick Shannon. She married Jon C. Santner, May 5, 1963, and he survives.
She retired in 2010 from Greenleaf Corp. after 40 years of service working in several office positions. Previously, she had worked for 10 years for Weber-Harris Ford as a notary and bookkeeper. In her retirement she was the Vernon Central Hose Co. treasurer for the past three years.
She was a 1960 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School. She was a member of Shepard of the Sea Lutheran Church in Garden City, S.C., Vernon Central Hose Co., Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department 3, Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department 4 and American Legion Post 111. She enjoyed traveling, having lived in the Myrtle Beach, S.C., area for eight years, visiting with friends and her doll collection.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Jon, of 49 years, include a sister, Mary Mullen of Meadville; a brother, Robert Shannon and his wife, Marge, of Detroit, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Arlene Santner of Conneaut Lake; a brother-in-law, Lynn Santner and his wife, Marcia, of Freedom, N.H.; numerous nieces and nephews; five great-nieces; two great-nephews; and her special cat, Rudy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Donley; two nephews, Timothy J. Donley and Aaron D. Donley; and a brother-in-law, A. Dale Santner.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Riddle, pastor of Lake Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335.
