MEADVILLE — David L. Park, 66, of Meadville, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born July 23, 1946, at Meadville, a son of Mary Lucille Peterson Park and the late Howard Park.

He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly A. Hasker and her husband, Keith, of Meadville, Lucille Horne and her husband, Robert, of Conneaut Lake, and Christine White of Atlantic; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a brother, Howard Park and his wife, Connie, of Saegertown; and two nephews.

In addition to his father, Howard Park, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Linda Park.

“My Brothers Prayer”: As he kneels there by the bedside, In the evening moonlite glow. His hands clasped very tightly, his head bent very low. He says, “Now I lay me down,” and after that is done. He starts his nightly prayer, of God Bless everyone. He starts with mom and dad and then his brother too, Never forgetting Gram and Grampa, and all his daughters too. He remembers all his playmates, especially the ones next door. The family dog was mentioned, the collie that he adored. And if we were to listen closely, we would hear these words he’d bare, “please don’t cry for me for now, I’m in God’s gentle care, and if you think he took me from you, oh please do not despair. Just put your hand upon your heart, and always I’ll be there. Amen, Love Hap.”

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Holland Towers, 1120 Market St., Meadville, in the Community Room. Please bring a dish to share with others as we celebrate the life of David L. Park.
