DuBOIS — Lawrence W. Lauffer, 81, of 43 Keen Circle, DuBois, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, in Marion Center.

He was born in Greensburg on March 1, 1931, a son of William F. Lauffer and Genevieve M. Shetler Lauffer. He was formerly married to Ruth E. Wescott and Leona Emery.

He is survived by a son, John O. Lauffer (Martha) of Conneaut Lake; three daughters, Shirley Kohler (Terry) of Linesville, Betty Doane (Dean) of Reynoldsville and Patty Strange (Kane) of Lowell, Fla.; an adopted daughter, Lori Dilks (Craig) of Reading; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth (Winnie) Lauffer of Walnutport; and his companion, Betty Smith of Marion Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence E. Lauffer; and a sister, Blanche L. Bair.

Lawrence was a 1949 graduate of Greensburg High School and a retired employee of the former Erickson Tool & Die of DuBois.

He was Protestant by faith.

Calling hours will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, 206 Main St., Reynoldsville.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Robert and Mark Myers officiating.

Interment will be in Emerickville Lutheran Cemetery, Brookville.
