HARTSTOWN —
Robert J. Burns, 72, of Hartstown, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Sharon Regional Health Systems.
Born in Westford on Sept. 16, 1939, he was a son of Fred Burns and Mildred Fries Burns. He married Marilynn R. Buel Burns on Aug. 7, 1965. She preceded him in death Nov. 3, 2008.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School, and retired as general manager at Ace Products of Conneautville. He served in the U.S. Army as a disbursement specialist and payroll clerk.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church and served as an usher.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Linesville American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Andrea (David) McConnell of Atlantic and Karin Byler of Hartstown; a son, Michael Burns; three grandchildren, Megan McConnell, Abby McConnell and Grace Byler; and a sister, Shirley (Tom) Fumich of North Ridgeville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, Conneaut Lake, with a vigil service at 5:45 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake, with Father Stephen Anderson of Our Lady Queen of the Americas as celebrant.
Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
