MEADVILLE —
Mary M. McDonough, 94, of 19331 State Highway 198, Saegertown, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
Mary was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 8, 1917, a daughter of the late Herman Joseph and Olive Stewart Kossler.
On June 14, 1941, Mary married John (Jack) McDonough; he preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1977.
Mary was an active member of St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She assisted with many funeral dinners.
She attended Pittsburgh schools in her earlier years and graduated from Saegertown High School in 1935. She retired from the former Avtex Corp. in the mid-1980s after several years of service. Mary was a member of Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Young at Heart. She enjoyed playing Bridge and attending to her yard. She was an avid Saegertown High School sports fan, especially girl’s basketball, where she was awarded a trophy for being the No. 1 fan.
Mary is survived by a son, John L. McDonough and his wife, Becky, of Cochranton; a daughter Mary (Lisa) Foshay and her husband, Chris, of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Moneau McDonough Mosier, Michelle McDonough Kriner, Brian McDonough, Ryan Foshay and Megan Foshay; five great-grandchildren, Neil Stovall, Sara Stovall, Brynn Kriner, Andrew McDonough and Bryce McDonough; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Keith Mosier and his fiancée, Lakein Peterson, Tiffany Mosier, Amanda Mosier and Ashley Kriner; a sister, Jean Nau and her husband, Oral (Skip) of Palm Bay, Fla.; a brother, Howard Kossler and his wife, Ruth, of Bethel Park; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Kossler of Englewood, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Jack, of 36 years and her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Luikart; and a brother, Phillip Kossler.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where a scripture service will be held at 3:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, Renner Avenue, Saegertown, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with Father David Poulson, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will take place in Saegertown Cemetery, Hayfield Township.
