David William (Bill) Acker, 71, of 19967 Grange Center Rd., Saegertown, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at home.
Bill was born in Meadville on May 10, 1941, a son of the late Neil and Suzie A. (Blystone) Acker.
He was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Bill entered active duty on Jan. 2, 1964, and served his country honorably until his discharge on Dec. 11, 1967.
After several years of service, Bill retired as the restaurant manager from the Hilton Hotel, located just outside of New York City. He had previously been employed by a record company in Edison, N.J., where he had been transferred from Erie. In his earlier years he was employed by the former American Visose.
Bill is survived by a brother, Robert (Bob) E. Acker and his wife, Cathy, of Saegetown; a nephew, Larry Acker and his wife, Sandy; a niece, Rebecca Donofrio; a grand niece, Alexandra; and two grand nephews, Vincent and Colin.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
