MEADVILLE — Elizabeth H. Rockwell, 96, of Hillside Home, formerly of 245 Grandview Ave., Meadville, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born May 28, 1916, a daughter of Harry C. Hustead and Beryl Newcomer Hustead. She married Ewing H. Rockwell on July 3, 1935; he passed away Dec. 8, 1987.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Georges High School in Uniontown and was a homemaker caring for her family.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and at the church she was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.

Elizabeth was a member of Church Women United, United Methodist Women and held many offices in the local, district and conference of the United Methodist Church.

She was a past president of Meadville Women’s Club, Sunset Auxiliary and on the Wesbury board for a number of years.

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Thomas H. Rockwell and his wife, Lois, of Meadville; a daughter, Patricia A. Toboz and her husband, Daniel, of Meadville; a grandson, Jeffrey Dudenhaver and his wife, Judith, of Seven Fields; two granddaughters, Lori Elinsky and her husband, Scott, of Oak Hill, Va., and Cami Robie and her husband, T.J., of Erie; a great-granddaughter, Kelly Dudenhaver of Seven Fields; a great-grandson, Michael Dudenhaver of Seven Fields; a sister, Mildred Lott of Ocala, Fla.; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; an unborn great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ewing, of 52 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wendell Hustead; and a sister, Evelyn Hustead who passed away at age 6.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral and committal will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Goodnough of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.

Memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 828 N. Main St., Meadville, Pa. 16335; or charity of the donor’s choice.
