Ray E. Wetsell

GUYS MILLS — Ray E. Wetsell, 80, of Guys Mills, passed away Friday, March, 1, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Richmond Township on Oct. 24, 1932, a son of Guy Wetsell and Georgia Davison Wetsell. He married Betty L. Briggs on Oct. 26, 1952; she survives.

Ray was a 1952 graduate of Saegertown High School and a U.S. Army veteran serving his country in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Talon, Steer Dairy, Montgomery Ward, and he retired from Pennsylvania Tool and Gages after 29 years.

He attended First Baptist Church.

Ray enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, camping, spending time at the Senior Center in Guys Mills, but most of all he loving being around his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Betty, of 60 years he is survived by two daughters, Donna Pakozdi and her husband, Bob, of Renfrew, and Deneen Mangan and her husband, Mark, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two sons, Daniel Wetsell and his wife, Brenda, of Blooming Valley, and David Wetsell and his, wife Linda, of Saegertown; grandchildren, Darlene Long and her husband, Dan, Danielle Hudson, Tim Wetsell, Ben Wetsell, Brittany Mangan, Kyle Mangan, Kellie Mangan, Carri Pakozdi and Chad Pakozdi; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Long, Brookelynn Hudson, Shelby Long and Dakota Hudson; a sister, Mae Lenhart and her husband, Eugene, of Saegertown; and several, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Wetsell; his parents, Guy and Georgia Davison; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mattie and Carlton Briggs.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Walton of First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will take place in Blooming Valley Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s memory to an organization of the donor’s choice.
